FAQ :: Payment
In a nutshell
Our online shop at present will only process orders for delivery within Australia being payed for by credit card.
If you wish to order for international dispatch, pay via bank deposit, cash pick up at our Roastery, please contact us and we will be happy to oblige.
Payments for our credit card orders are handled directly with the ANZ bank of Australia. We have opted for this solution to make a clear distinction on where your information goes. Coffee Secret stores your address & contact details, all financial information will be processed and stored by the ANZ bank.
The payment process is highly automated. After clicking the “Complete Order” button you will be redirected to the ANZ bank payment page via a secure connection and after entering your credit card details it’s one click and a short wait to finalise the transaction.
Upon successful completion you will be presented with your receipt and a copy will be send to the email address you provided.
I’m having trouble…
First check the most obvious things.
- Is your system updated with the latest browser and security software ?
- Did you enter your credit card number correctly ?
If your payment could not be completed you’ll be issued a receipt number, please note this number down. This number allows us to check where things may have go wrong. We will endeavour to liaison with the ANZ to the best of our ability if the problem lies on our side.
Your card will only be charged if the order process has been successfully completed.
I see, so how does it all look in practice?
When you click “Complete Order” you will be transported to the ANZ Bank via HTTPS and your browser should give you a lock icon indicating a secure connection has been established. This is the first screen you are presented with allowing you to select your preferred card. At present we only process VISA and MasterCard. Up top the ANZ Bank verifies it’s running this transaction on behalf of Coffee Secret.
For this write up we are going to process an order using a VISA card, Upon selecting VISA we are presented with the page to fill in our credit card details. Take notice how the ANZ Bank confirms the purchase amount as well.
Upon clicking “Enter Payment” a series of automated actions will occur. The ANZ will contact the credit card issuer to see if the card is valid and if you have opted for any additional security measures such as a password or pin you may have set for online transactions.
When the automated process has finished successfully the ANZ Bank will confirm that all has met with it’s Approval.
And that’s it! With your transaction approved you are returned to our online shop to be presented with a copy of your receipt. An email copy will also be send to the email address you provided.
What trouble looks like…
If at any time there is a problem with running your transaction the process it stopped and you will be informed as best as possible what may have gone wrong.
As the payment was not successful and the process stopped in it’s tracks your card will not be billed. You are now redirected to our report page where you will be issued with a “Receipt Number”. The receipt number is a unique set of digits that serves as a reference to Coffee Secret and the ANZ Bank in case of problems.
You are at this stage given the option to retry placing your order. You will be returned to the web shop checkout with your cart contents still in place but with your personal details cleared for safety reasons. Should problems persists note down the receipt number for your reference and get in touch with us.
